A few years ago, my local newspaper featured a guest column called "A Woman's Voice". Female readers had the opportunity to write articles about issues and experiences that were important to them, and have them published in the newspaper. The column ran once a month.
I submitted two separate articles to "A Woman's Voice," a year apart, and both were published (much to my surprise and delight!). As a writer, there is no greater validation than seeing your words in print. As a woman, it affirmed that my life experiences have value and meaning. It's hard to be selective about my subject matter: I've got so much to say, and not enough opportunities to say it! But, as you will see, I devoted a lot of time and attention to defining the scope of each article, and making my words fit within those parameters.
I had to scan these bad boys at 150 d.p.i. resolution, otherwise the print would be too small to read. Depending on your modem speed, they might take a little longer to download, but they're worth the wait.
